The Shirley R. Carr Scholarship Foundation is a Norfolk, Virginia-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to one powerful purpose: removing financial barriers so deserving students can pursue their dreams.
Founded in 2017 and inspired by the legacy of Sister Shirley Ruffin Carr - a tireless servant, church pillar, and lifelong giver - our foundation carries forward her spirit of selfless dedication to community and youth.
Since our founding, we have awarded scholarships to students through the Walker Memorial Scholarship Fund, the Catherine M. Chambers Scholarship, and the 900 Men Strong Scholarship. Every dollar raised goes toward building a future where no motivated student is held back by the cost of education.
